At Ozark Alpacas, our primary focus is our customers' success.  Good quality alpacas, fair prices, and extraordinary customer service is our simple formula to achieve that goal.  We welcome your farm visit, whether you are just starting your alpaca research or have been looking into raising alpacas for quite some time.  Our plan is simple.  We will prepare for your visit, listen to your plans, and answer all your questions.  We'll let you get as much hands-on time with our award winning alpacas as you like.  Then, when you're ready to buy (next week or next year), we'll be there for you.  Please call or email to arrange a visit to our New London, Missouri location today!

We are pleased to offer two upcoming events in June:  A Spring Festival (open to everyone) and a Workshop (intensive one-day clinic for prospective buyers).  Here is more info on each:

7th Annual Spring Alpaca Festival at Starlight Ranch
         SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 2008
         11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Ozark Alpacas and other area breeders welcome you for a day of learning and fun.  Owners of several area alpaca farms will be on hand to share information, answer questions, and show off their alpacas!  Here is a sampling of the seminars that will be offered throughout the day:

Breeder's Discussion Panel.  Here's your chance to ask questions and hear multiple views from alpaca breeders, big and small, about their experiences, lessons, and even mistakes.

Alpacas 101.  This informative seminar will cover the basics of alpaca ownership, from nutrition, fencing and predator control, to tax advantages and record keeping.

Alpacas: The Stable Stock Investment.  Accountant Tom Martin will share his understanding of accounting and how to design a financial plan for your operation.

Bring your appetites!  Delicious  hot dogs, chili dogs, chips, cookies and popcorn will be available as part of the festivities.  All proceeds from food sales will be donated to a charitable organization.

The Festival will be held at our New London, Missouri  location (near Hannibal).

From the North:
Go south on U.S. 61 to the New London exit (Hwy. 19).  Turn right and go 4 miles.  Turn left on F road and go 2.5 miles.  Turn left on Buffalo Lane and go 1 mile to Starlight Ranch (on right side of road).

From the South:
From I-70, go North on U.S. 61 to the New London exit.  Take New London exit (Hwy. 19) and turn left.  Go 4 miles to F road.  Turn left and go 2.5 miles to Buffalo Lane.  Turn left on Buffalo Lane and go 1 mile to Starlight Ranch (on right side of road).

From the West:
From I-70, take US 54 North/East.  Follow US 54 and it will bypass around Mexico.  When you come to a stop sign on the east side of Mexico, turn right and continue on US 54 for another 10 miles where US 54 joins Hwy. 19.  At that junction, turn left (north) and go another 8 miles whereupon US 54 will separate from Hwy. 19.  Stay on Hwy. 19 for about 24 more miles to F Road. Turn right on F Road and go 2.5 miles to Buffalo Lane.   Turn left on Buffalo Lane and go 1 mile to Starlight Ranch (on right side of road).


SPRING ALPACA WORKSHOP

Make plans to join us for the Spring Workshop at Starlight Ranch, just south of historic Hannibal, Missouri.  The agenda offers a full day of education to help you succeed at raising and breeding alpacas -- the World's Finest Livestock Investment!  Here is a sampling of the seminars:

Alpaca Industry Overview.  Alpacas have grown from a small niche agricultural pastime to over a half billion dollar farming industry in just over 20 years.  This short class will explore the future of alpaca farming in America.

Alpacas 101.  This hands-on seminar will allow attendees to touch and experience many kinds of raw alpaca fiber in order to learn what distinguishes one fleece from another.  Also, each attendee will have a hands-on alpaca handling session.

How to Make My Alpaca Investment Work For Me.  We will explore this issue from a variety of angles.  Also, materials from the Missouri Department of Agriculture designed to help new agricultural businesses get started will be distributed.

The cost of the Workshop is $50 per person or $80 per couple, which includes lunch and a Workshop  Notebook.
